*Please note: I will probably be getting the EVGA 9800GTX+ when it comes out instead.

Heres my recommendations..

Get a Xigmatek 650w Instead of the Corsair 620hx

Get a Xigmatek Rifle instead of that Zalman 9700, it performs the same for a lot less

I don't recommend Crucial Ballistix Tracer, because its supposed to be cheap 1-sided RAM

How about a NZXT Tempest Case instead of the 900

Also about the board and GPU:

HD 4850 is already out and will outperform the 9800gtx, and around the same as HD 4850... and if you want expansion you can get a Crossfire board like a P35 or X38/48 and is better than a meh SLI Chipset..

or you could get a 9800gtx+ with a 750i FTW if you prefer nVidia

I see you have done some research already, although the 9800 is a waste as the 4850 is cheaper and around the same performance (sometimes better sometimes worse).

If you plan to oc i would recommend a rifle instead of that zalman.

wow! thanks vern i wasnt expecting a response that fast! lol

the reason i chose the zalman and the tracers is that i was uber jealous of the lights lol but you're right: i should probably look for performance rather than having an eye candy rig.

the tempest looks exactly like the 900! idk the only thing i don't like is that the led's on the front aren't nearly as bright as on the 900.

i think i will wait until the 9800gtx+ is out and see some benchies between the 4850 and that to make my decision

thanks again for the constructive response :)

oh sweet :D
well i didnt have time to read thru it all but from what i saw, the gtx+ and the 4850 performed close to the same.
i prefer nvidia over ati from what i have seen over the last few years, so i think i am going to go with the gtx+

if i were to get an intel chipset though, what would you recommend that is around the same price as the 750i ($200)?

Probably an Asus P5E or DFI LANPARTY DK X48-T2RS or DFI LANPARTY DK X38-T2RS
