So I was curious what my cpu temp was after reading a few threads on here.

Turns out its running ~84 deg F at idle. I checked this in the system info on startup.. Anyhow I know thats a crazy high temp to be running and I don't know why it is because I thought at first it was my new video card (9600 gt) with only a 300 W power supply, so I assumed that it was the card, so I pulled out the card and hooked up my integrated 6150LE and the temp didnt change at all.

The thing is though..I've been playing cod 4 for about 2 weeks now on the current setup and it hasnt crashed a single time. No errors, 80-90 fps.. And as far as I know, no damage has been done.

Does anyone know how I can check the temperature under a slight load? And what temp will the thing blow at lol? And yeah, I'm buying the Arctic Cooling 64 for AMD chips..so it should get better. This isnt normal operating temp though is it?

Anyhow, thanks for the comments

Check if the Fan is clogged with Dust, that usually causes some Temp increases...

Clean it out using a compressed air can...

But try CoreTemp

OH dang!!

I thought he meant Celcius too.. I skimmed through that really fast....

Ya 84 degrees Fahrenheit is fine... Celsius is when you panic..
