Hello,

PCI-X is not compatible with PCI. IT is a double Wide version of PCI.

It is a double-wide version of PCI, running at up to four times the clock speed, but is otherwise similar in electrical implementation and uses the same protocol.

Taken right from Wikipedia:
PCI-X - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So any device that is connected to PCI-X can not fit into a PCI Slot. They are designed for a specific slot. Just like PCIe is.

Cheers,
Mak
