I'm not to sure on monitors, my budget for one now is 300$ or maybe a little more.

Some monitors have a very glossy nice look with sharp very nice images.
Some are plain and boring looking with no vibrant colors.

How can I tell the difference?

I prefer 22'' +

Any suggestions?

And does anyone know when the 4870 is coming out and how much it will cost on average?

I have the 24" version of this one, i love it.
#2

only one dead pixel, can hardly notice it.
The microphone/speakers suck but i wasn't planning on using them anyway.

I could only find that exact monitor at newegg in the 2-3ms range, are you looking for the portrait view option?

The monitor i have has no light bleed what so ever, and it was perfect out of the box didn't have to change the brightness/contrast.
I have played both cod4 and tf2 with it flawlessly.

only three companies make actual panels, samsung and i dunno the other 2 Xd. but thats one samsungs screens are usually the best. so if you want nice picture they are great. but monitors like viewsonic and asuss make some good ones for lower prices too.

The best way to check if you like a monitor is to go check it out first. alot of people see different things in monitors.

It will say anti glare coating which doesn't have the glossy glass panel. I prefer those (anti glare)because it is annoying if windows are around you and the blinds or curtains are up.
