I have a asus P5N-E motherboard that I have been using for about a year. I was planning to upgrade it with a intel E7200 core 2 duo wolfdale, but I noticed in newegg specs that the cpu types recommended for the P5N-E was Pentium Extreme/PentiumD/Pentium4/Celeron.

Is this spec important? I had assumed any cpu that would fit in a 775 socket would be fine.

Well before you use the P5N-e, make sure it has the latest bios, because it needs the latest version to support Wolfdales (but it'll still overclock badly with a 650i)
