power problems

i bought a Ultra X-2 750W PSU, it stopped working and sent the
power supply back to Ultra where they replaced it with a 800W X-3 power Supply
and i received it today and I installed it into my computer and at first
it worked fine. I over clocked my Processor, a Intel Q6600 2.4ghz running at
3.4Ghz, and my ram. I turned off my computer, and then i turned off the switch
on the power supply. I installed a Wireless Adapter in a PCI slot on the
motherboard. I turned on the Switch on the back of the power supply, and turned the computer back on,
it powers on for half a second and then turns off for about 3 seconds and then
turns back on. If i leave the switch on the back of the power supply alone and
keep the computer plugged in the problem goes away, but if i want to turn off
the computer, and the switch on the back of the power supply, it has problems
powering up the computer. i contacted Ultra and they said it was not a power supply problem but a motherboard short. I would swap parts to see what the problem is but i do not have extra parts that are compatible with this set up. i checked all the connections and everything seems to be plugged in correctly. and yes i have the EPS12V cable plugged in.

It could be a short but simply from the case to motherboard connection. Does it turn and everything work but display video? This is what i have seen in my experience as a grounding error from the case to mobo. Are you using brass stand-off's?

i called asus and they told me that all their Intel based motherboards do that and there is no problem and it will definitely not hurt my computer. I think is all BS. but i have warrenties/

maybe they are talking about the cold double boot which a bios update fixes.
