graphics card confusion

Building a budget gaming pc for a which would be better a X1650 PRO 512MB DDR2 or a XFX 7900GS 450M 256MB DDR3

I'd go for the 7900gs for sure if those are your only options. I've got one in my little bro's comp now and it plays great. It's definitely much more powerful than an x1650, that thing's not even close.
