244 Ram?

i had some store build a comp for me...suppose to be 256 MB ram but when i checked on my system it only said i has 244...

did the store screwed me over?

That cuz component like onboard video is sharing it. If you would have installed a AGP or PCI then it would have most like showed What you have.

no, its just available ram . . .

like, i have 512, but it says 448, because i have some going to vieo memory

its either due to onboard graphics card eating up memory OR its due to a AGP apeture setting size. of course, 12MB is a odd number.... maybe mistyped it.
