A friend of mine gave to me a compaq evo n610 notebook.
i formated the system and started using it, but i came to notice immediately that the graphics was knda slow..

Then i used dxdiag to check for the graphic card...
but this is what i found.

Name:
Manufacturer: n/a
Chip name : n/a
DAC type: n/a

which means no graphics card if i am rite, but may i ask where the graphic card is on the notebook, so i could check it out, or what should i do...

Guys please help me out here....
i'll appreciate

i downloaded the driver and tried installing but i get this error that "video.inf" was not found. what cld dat be

That's strange. Have you tried doing it from safe mode?

When you look up Display Adapters in the Device Manager what does it say you have? Try uninstalling whatever it is and then running the driver package from HP.

It could be that you have to force install the driver.

Make sure XP is fully updated. Windows update may have a driver for you. I wouldn't hurt to have the latest Directx installed.
