Hello,

I have a Dell E-1705 that I bought a couple years ago. At the time of purchase I got everything prettymuch upgraded except I went with 1 gig of ram, because that can be upgraded later.

Here are the specs:
2.0 Intel Core Duo
1 Gig ram (533 MHZ fsb i think)
Geforce Go 7900
17" Screen with upgraded resolution screen(1900X1200 max res)
80GB 7200 RPM Drive
Windows XP Media center additon, SP2

Will upgrading this machine to 2GB of 667MHZ ram help my machine not be so sluggish? Or should i put that money toward a new one soon? I think i found some ram at some website called Memory Ten - Computer Memory upgrade RAM memory upgrade PC DDR SDRAM memory Upgrades or something for around $60.00 shipped.

Thanks

Thanks, they recomend:

2GB kit (1GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-4200(533) memory module.

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-4200,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*

*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory*

I remember when first getting the computer it had an option of:

1GB 533 FSB
1GB 667 FSB
2GB 533 FSB
2GB 667 FSB

Well then you need to contact Dell. Cause if Crucial recommends 533 then i would not go beyond that. They are spot on 99% of the time. So them saying tha tyou can go with that means that you could not use the 667 that you think you can. So someone has a error and i would not be likely to bet against Crucial.
