Help: Best Overall motherboard for AMD and Intel (Under $100)

I am still a newbie, so I am not sure which cpu to go with: Amd or intel

Which one is cheaper?Am looking for something comparable with intel q6600 2.4ghz

And so for the motherboard which one is the best overall (under $100)
One for intel and one for Amd.

or do you guys recommend to get a more expensive one? (based on experience.)

go intel now.. they have the upper hand in the market.

so go with a q6600 and a gigabyte ds3l or abit ip35

Ya those are stripped down versions of the Abit Ip35-e, so stick with the EP35-DS3L or the regular p35-DS3L

not anymore though.. intel basically has all points of the market underhand. look at the e2xxx series... those things trouce most of the x2 chips..

Well, lets say am on low bugdet....

amd holds the market at low budget stock...intel whoops on them when you overclock their e2xxx or even the e1200 celeron for a standard internet e-mail machine. Overclock them even a little bit and they beat their amd competitor.
