Only happens during desktop, not when i have a full screen game going or something. I move it just a bit, it makes a very quiet beeping sound, if i move it constantly, it's a constant sound. It's very quiet, I can't hear it with music, or videos.. I'm just wondering what it is.

pc specs

CPU:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

Mobo:
Asrock 4Core1600TWINS-P35

Ram:
2gb DDR2 800 PC2 - 6400

GPU:
Nvidia 7900 GTX OC (Yes, I know, old. but it's one of the best dx9 cards, vista ftl)

Speaker in the case, not my logitech 5.1 speakers.

Bump

Can anyone help me? I'll clearify..

it's more like a scraping sound almost... do i need to fix something in bios?

1. Bumping is not allowed
2. Update the mouse driver, flash bios, update all other drivers, update windows, try other USB ports.

is it like a high pitch scraping sound that keeps going until you stop moving the mouse (does it sound a bit like something spinning?

^^what is bumping?

is it a PS/2 mouse?
if so, get yourself a USB one. I think that should fix the problem.

I've actually had this happen once (with an older Pentium 3 system)

It's a high pitched scraping like something is spinning, yes. I have a Logitech G5 gaming mouse, not wireless, and it's usb. I've tried every USB port I have. All my drivers / windows are fully updated.

Like I said, i don't hear it when I have a game open, it's just slightly irritating.
