I recently got a memory stick duo for my PSP. It was working fine for a while, but when I tried to move an arbitrary music file onto it, I started getting problems.

-I now cannot move files onto it. I get the error "Cannot copy ____: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)."

-I cannot create a new folder. I get the error "Unable to create the folder 'New Folder' / The parameter is incorrect.", followed by an error bubble.

-I cannot remove a folder, I get the error "The parameter is incorrect."

-The memory card with that came with the PSP; problem is, it's only 32MB.

I'd like to know why this is all happening. I've been plagued by errors that seem to happen to no one else.

Please help.

Well do you have a memory card reader/writer? Most of the adapters for PC's are just readers and not writers. So that would explain why you can not do anything with the memory card from your PC.

When you drag the folders is when you get these error right? That would tell me that it is only a reader not a writer.

Get the make and model of the device and search for it and see if it is also a writer.

Well then it sounds as if the write head is gone and you need a new one.
