That is true. Since the E8400 have 45nm architecture, they run cooler and can overclock higher than a quad-core Q6600 which is still the 65nm CPU. It really depends on the games. If you are playing the newest games that have been optimized for quad-cores, get the quad. Otherwise if you just want a good experience on ALL games, get the dual.

I personally went with the e8400 and I really wished I had gone with the Q6600. No game even gets close to utilizing my e8400 to where I need to have something more powerful. I should have gotten the Q6600 for future games and applications. Because there is no point to get the e8400 over the Q6600 now because nothing maxs either of them atm.
