Motherboard power pin.

If a motherboard needs a 24pin connector and a power supply has a 20 and a 4 pin main connector will that power supply work with that motherboard.

Is it a 20+4 pin power connector or a 20 pin power connector and a 4 pin separate power connector? Only the 20+4 will guaranteed work.. The other may be referring to the 12v power which uses either 4 or 8 pin plugs.

Yep. If it is a 20+4 pin that means it will work in a 20 pin slot and the +4 won't be used... or it will work in a 24 pin slot with the 20+4 together.
