Ok, so ive done some decent research and this seems like a pretty decent build. I wanted to have a good system and then upgrade to one of the new video cards when they come out... I also wanted the possibility to upgrade to sli in the future.

So how does everything look? I plan to overclock as well.

looks pretty good. i would say to get a q6600 instead of the q6700, and get either a 8800 GTS 512mb or a 9800gtx. and everything else looks good.

yeah just get a Q6600

and maybe wait till the new cards are out cz ATI might be cheaper with similar perfomance against nVidia

would the 6600 clock to the same speeds as the 6700? i kinda figured the higher multiplier on the 6700 would let it overclock higher... but does it not work that way? if someone could clarify that would be sweet.

I'd get the q6600 over the q6700

The q6600 will OC to up to 4GHZ with proper cooling.
Which is enough for pretty much anything.

so the 6700 will not clock higher than the 6600 even though the multi is higher? assuming proper cooling and all... because if the 6700 is gunna give me any more performance then i dont see a reason not to go for it.

Get:

Q6700 if you want to have the cpu over 3.6ghz everyday

Q6600 if you want to have the cpu on or under 3.6ghz everyday

thanks. i think im going to go with the 6700, id like this thing to be a monster. maybe im just being bullheaded... but the extra multiplier wont hurt anything, and for the price of a tank of gas it seems worth it...

Hey,

I'd be honored if you could consider ordering your build through my store:
Inferno Deals

Anything you have on that list, I can get, and can be added at your request if it isn't already. The only things are the xigmatek cooler, and having trouble keeping the 6700s available.

Thanks
