OEM Vs. Retail Box CPU

An E8400 Wolfdale that I recently purchased was OEM, so it didn't include a heatsink fan or come with a retail box.

Is there a difference in the warranty period between an OEM and a retail version of the same CPU?

Could there be any other potential differences between the two beside simply originating from different batches of CPU's?

I normally just buy the retail version anyway, just to have a backup cooler when i need one.

But as far as i know, thats the only difference

One many Intel CPUs the warranty period is only 1 year for OEM procs, but it's always 3 years for boxed. The OEM warranty period can vary a bit but all that I've seen are only 1 year. Worth the extra $10 to get the extra two years, I think. Not sure if AMD operates the same way.
