Basically, I'd like to know the difference between the 180 dollar 8800 GT I just bought and the ones I see for 500 dollars...

I don't see how a video card can have such a vast price range.

Thanks for the help. :)

Oh I'm sorry it was an ultra and mine is a GT..but I they're still 8800s...

And what really gets me is that the GT I bought's core clock is faster than the ultra...and the Ultra doesn't seem to have any real advantages other than 768 MB of ram and 384 bit interface as opposed to my 256.

Here's the links...Mine is first
Newegg.com - MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Newegg.com - EVGA 768-P2-N881-AR GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

I just would like to know the big difference between the two.

Well the 8800Ultra is based on the older g80 core, which runs hot and consumes a lot of power (but it's faster) it also has a 384bit Interface, but this will win at really high resolutions though

8800gt uses the g92 core which is more efficient and uses a lower clock speed to get a lot of performance
