hey guys i have a dual OS in my system..... freshly installed
windows 98
windows xp
the former one doesnt turn up in the option at all when i installed teh later one..
not able to reckon watz the problem....... it just starts booting windows xp automatically .....

well that says that i will have to again install windows 98 which will be pathetic seriously ne other ingenious idea......!

well the boot.ini file is where the boot options are stored, that is where you need to concentrate your efforts. Though you many want to avoid manually adding arc paths, that's fun but it even gives me a headache ;)

Question though: did you install 98 after xp? if so then there is some fun involved in the fixing (I did that once and you have to manually edit a file in hex! :D)

no i first installed 98 and then xp...
and the problem is its just not opening the dual boot menu
directly its booting windows xp..
well ne way to fix it...

can you post up the content of your boot.ini file please? and you do have the two OS's on different partitions right? It can work with them both on the same one but I don't recommend it.
