Hey guys I am new here and all. I am a 14 year old guy who lives on Earth. I want a new computer and I want to build it but I dont know what stuff to get. Can I have some suggestions? This is for gaming mainly. I have a budget of $1100-$1200. I need a monitor as well. Is this enough for a computer? Also I was told by my uncle not to use any OEM or used computer parts so if you guys give me a custimazation please dont include any oem or used parts. Thanks in advanced and also I keep hearing that CRTs are better for gaming, is this true cause my dad wants me to get a 17" LCD instead of a big CRT.

Is this a good gaming machine. I will add a sound card later and I already have decent speakers. So, will this system cut it for me. I plan to upgrade the RAM, HDD, Sound Card around January.
Please assist.

I haven recently been building a computer with the help of some talented Tech forum people.

Here's some info:

Ati Radeon 9800 is good..but it's like UBER UBER good. If u want a basic family comp and an LCD screen, you wont be able to get these items and still fit them into your budget.

I am gunna go for somefin lower, like a 9600. I am not an extreme gamer, but it still should give me good graphics for watching dvds.

ooooh..and the guardian is sexy...just make sure that it has a power supply.

in my opinion its a good gameing computer... i play all games on mine and urs is going to be alot better than what i have now.. The ram is good but for the best gameing experience u should get a gig. that will prevent the system from slowing down while u play.

thats a hot case

*edit*
LCDs arent that good for gaming

ah.. OEM is the oposite of refurbished.. OEM's are brand new, y wouldnt he wont u to use those?

Let's do a quick tally here:
Please keep in mind that I'm a canadian and everything seems to cost more here.

Thanks guys. I think your right. I little more flaterry and my dad can give me an extra $80 and I can get some more RAM> Lol. Hey i no this isnt the place for it but i need an overclocking question answered. Can I overclock with this system and what level can I reach overclocking this system. If i do overclock i think i will need more fans, right?

I'd say, add extra fans. They go for about $4-6 dollars and it wont hurt to have a lil extra airflow. Especially if u're gunna be gaming.
