when i watch netflix instant watch it climbs sometimes to 147f and shutsdown
If I run any stress tests hot test pcpro it overheated to 156f and shut down i ran sandrabenchmark and it froze then shutdown from overheating. I've taken off the HSF and reseeded it and made sure it was'nt loose. This is a new computer and atm its 96f. theres also a side fan, all fans are working.

Performance Tips
Notice 224 : SMBIOS/DMI information may be inaccurate.
Tip 2511 : Some memory slots are free so the memory can be easily upgraded.
Warning 100 : Large memory sizes should be made of Registered/Buffered memory.
Tip 2546 : Large memory modules should be ECC/Parity.
Tip 2 : Double-click tip or press Enter while a tip is selected for more information about the tip.

Warning 100, does this mean i am using non-ecc/unbuffered or do i use buffered/registered ddrs sdram?
Any advise would be appreciated on the overheating problem :)
sorry im not really good with computers just a little and thanks in advance

If it is your CPU that is overheating, then the ram makes no difference

what are the temps in degrees celcius please :) i cant work with fahrenheit

Is the heatsink mounted correctly?

Did you keep the stock heatsink or did you get a aftermarket?

Thermal paste applied?

Dust? Proper air and ventilation?

You know you can just type in like "98F to C" in google and it'll auto-convert ;).

Processor AMD Athlon - Well there's your problem... AMD's have a serious problem with heat anyway.. Intel FTW!!! :p!

58C isn't overheating at all... ?? That seems low to me. How can you call that overheating? Just take the side off of your case and increase your fan speed... problem solved...

I can tell you one thing.. if you run Crysis editor and stare at the ocean... watch out... my GPU went to 234F and my case was almost on fire, lol.. my CPU i didn't check but holey cow...

I assume you are talking about it being at 58C constant and not under load... still.. that seems normal to me.. 138F and 160F under load is fine.

If you really want to have no worries just get a TRUE and it will be cold as ice. You could even overclock it, but I wouldn't think of it with your current hardware. Rofl

That's quite warm for a dual core, Stealth... I idle around 24-25, and load around 44... And I'm heavily OC'd with an AF7 as a heatsink/fan.

Like the others have said, double-check your heatsink mount, and reapply thermal compound. If you don't have an aftermarket cooler, I'd suggest getting the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro (its for AMD systems); I have the intel version (AF7P), and it does wonders, and its only around $25: Newegg.com - ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Oh..and Stealth..if your GPU was getting to over 112C...you have some serious problems there. The fan either isn't working right, or your card is bad... Because that's over the boiling point (212F/100C).

thanks for the tips and i will change for new hsf hope that will solve issues.
Not sure how to increase speed on fan but i will lok in case and see if i can.
