Safe to delete C:\Windows\Installer contents?

my brother's computer is out of space. he only got 213MB of free space out of 40GB. that folder took up 28GB of files.

is it safe to delete the contents of that folder? they're mostly .msp files. don't know why it took up so much space and he didn't even have a lot of programs installed.

tried doing disk cleanup but dat didn't work. he's got Windows XP

Go through Uninstall programs utility first.
Disk Clean up, defrag, delete offline content, clear internet information.

It shoudl be safe to delete that folder. That is usually the place where the update installers and other various installers are kept.

Should just buy a much larger harddrive.

40GB? Seriously..... I fill that in a nights download...

it's my brother's computer. he's only using 9GB but it's that installer folder that somehow took most of the space
