Inline linking (also known as hotlinking, leeching, piggy-backing, direct linking, offsite image grabs and bandwidth theft) is the use of a linked object, often an image, from one site into a web page belonging to a second site. The second site is said to have an inline link to the site where the object is located.

HotLink protection prevents other websites from directly linking to files (as specified below) on your website. Other sites will still be able to link to any file type that you don't specify below (ie. html files). An example of hotlinking would be using a <img> tag to display an image from your site from somewhere else on the net. The end result is that the other site is stealing your bandwidth. You should ensure that all sites that you wish to allow direct links from are in the list below. This system attempts add all sites it knows you own to the list, however you may need to add others.
Warning!!!
--If you use frontpage extensions, DO NOT USE HOTLINK PROTECTION--
It will corrupt the frontpage extensions in your account.

Here is a site for some scripts:

Hot Scripts :: The net's largest PHP, CGI, Perl, JavaScript and ASP script collection and resource web portal

But all a user has to do it disable Java and it bypasses it.

You could also add a watermark that way if you do see the image somewhere else, you know its yours. But you have to think about the size of the watermark because someone would just need to crop the image and then they have most of the image without the watermark.

Hotlinking protection isn't what you need for this type of situation. Screen capturing poses a great harm to you. I don't know much about Flash, but i'm pretty sure you can turn it into some kind of .SWF presentation file, and place a watermark over it. It'd be something like Michael Buble Michael Buble's top banner. You can only zoom in and stuff like that. You can simply just make a Flash video with the picture and watermark and make it stand still for 10 seconds or so, enough for your family to see.

Upload it to a password-activated website and don't title it with anything that has anything to do with MLK. Email this site and pw to your family. It's a primitive solution, but I think it works.

make an account of Photobucket, upload the image, then send it the user name/password to only your family/friends that you want to view the image.

Wouldn't that just work..? :|

Wow that is now the 2nd person after the first 4 people have said that there is no way to be 100% secure.

Please read the topic. It has already been stated on Screen shots would not be prevented. No need to say that with every post.

Photocbucket and Flickr do have that option to save it only with family and friends. But it doesnt protect the image at all.

none of my people know computers like that. maybe my next door neighbor and that's it. I was playing with this but I'm lost.

that link crashes my browser. I was trying to figure out how to embed 1 picture into a swf file. I know it as simple as downloading and install real one player 11 to defeat that option but most people don't know that

To put a image over the picture is easy. I dont know if Coral has these optins but i will tell yo how i do ti in photoshop.

Create a new layer. Put the new image on top. Now use the opacity or transparency meter to reduce the opacity of the new image down so that you can still see it and the bottom image comes thru.

When you get it to a spot where you are happy just save it.
