dude 65nm is worse than 45nm in terms of the die itself

only reason I don't like q9xxx series is becuase they are overpriced + their low and heck multiplier you need a mobo like a 790i to get a really high FSB

Lol I know... but I didn't see your post.. haha

I had TF Open, and just posted my post and then whoop there came yours

Well there are some things you have to consider though before you make a judgement like that:

-45nm 12mb/6mb cache models are 5-10% faster clock for clock vs their quad/dual counterparts
-With the right mobo the 45nm chips clock WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY higher on average than the 65nm
-45nm DO run cooler

That said, the 45nm chips are too expensive at the moment in my opinion...the E7200 is a great buy but everything else isn't worth it. Especially when you start looking at the quads.

Nope

Compare e8400 to e6850 (both exact same speed)

e8400 uses the Wolfdale Core, e6850 uses the Conroe

the e8400 costs Intel Cheaper to make, runs cooler, overclocks better and consumes less power, faster clock per clock to the e6850

however the Quad 45nm's just suck in my opinion, even though they are faster clock per clock, they use 1333fsb which means a lower multiplier, and less OC'ing ability unless you have a board that can do really high FSB
