get an e4700 instead of the e8400 and it will save you like $100 and will put you at your price range.....

From reading around, it says the 8800GT is a better value card then the 9600GT, is this true?

The kfa2 version has a good cooler so it can be oced past an 8800gt performance. Also i thought you were trying to minimize costs?
