Lost hardware profile due to virus/spyware - need recovery

Hi,


I lost my hardware profile on a windows XP home computer (Pentium 3 500Mhz) and this was because of a virus/spyware combo that was in the comp. The threats were finally eliminated, but I cannot get my CD drive or network card/network to load. I think this is because my hardware profile doesn't show up in the device manager. Is there any recovery tool I could possibly use to make it work? Thx.

With the XP CD. Do a repair install.

How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install

That will be your best option.

Reinstall or repair XP.
