Turn Off Computer Menu Lags

When i hit the turn off computer menu (start - > alt-u) it lags for like 5 minutes before i get the turn off or restart button. How can i fix this..?
I'm using windows xp btw

All of those troubleshooters are about shutting down, but my problem isn't at the shutdown. It's before the shutdown
When i try to get to the shutdown menu where it lists if you want to restart, turn off computer.

It takes 5 minutes to load that up..

Nevermind i fixed, i had to many stuff on my hardrive so i deleted a few gigs.

That would be why.

Run CCleaner. That will help greatly.
