audigy zs 2 platinum

I currently own a panasonic sc-ht900, which is connected to my sblive 5.1 via a y link cable connected to the aux ports on my receiver, thus giving me stereo sound ( 2 channels ). I bought an audigy 2 zs platinum online, which has an optical output. I was thinking of connecting my home theater system via its optical input to the output on the card. My receiver does have decoding for surround sound. Will this give me 6 channel surround sound? If not how could i do it, my receiver does not have the 6 din jacks on the back, just a left and right for tv/vcr/aux.

The audigy does not output surround through its optical connection i talked with sound blaster. I think thats crap however. Unless in the manual it says it does. Please let me know of one that does output 6.1 optically so i can buy it.

I have the Audigy2 platinum pro and it can pass undecoded signals through the SP/DIF outputs.
