Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

its not that you can't get higher, but the board is picky w/ certain settings

i had a 680i that did 1300 fsb.. but wouldnt do anything 1300+ all the way up to 1500... it would do 1500 just fine though..

weird stuff

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

the A1 i have doesnt seem to have that problem, i can manage any fsb i want without problems

mgcook sold me a good one :)

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

i did.. but i can't figure out how to ship to canada (i tried, but i guess filled whatever i had for customs wrong)... and i'm not a man of much time.. sadly i had to pay him back :(

just about all the times i post on tech forums, are either really late at night.... or while i'm at work

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

Just curious if it's valid to list this. It is CPU-Z verified and has a screenshot with Core Temp.

Anyway, I may be buying Dainius's Phenom 9850 BE (got 3GHZ on air, on a non-ideal board)

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

Do it, and you're water cooler is pretty sweet... you can probably do 3.5ghz on it... it'd be great to actually see a Phenom 9850 on 3dmark06 score list

I'm not sure if it'd get 3.5, but I could actually show people that the Phenom is a good CPU.

at ~2.8GHZ, I'd say it'd be roughly as fast per core as my 6000+ is at 3.4GHZ

Anyway, why don't you just get a 780G board or something so you can use the CPU and RAM I sent you?
the 780G boards also have PCI-E, so you could upgrade to a better card (or even use hybrid crossfire)

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

Actually thats my plan, I just have to wait until my AP Exam (next Thursday, which I'm going to fail and not get college credit D: )
