Who to trust?

Hey

I just downloaded core temp for interest and found my cpu running at 52c idle core 0 and 54 core 1.

Now its not that dusty and i will give it a clean and re-doo the cable management for increased airflow but the problem is speedfan my program i normally use for temps is reporting it at 40c idle with 37 core 0 and 41 core 1.

Who do i trust?


Edit: Also both programs show different voltages

Speedfan @ 1.375
Coretemp @ 1.312

I never trust Speedfan for temps...too buggy IMO. Trust CoreTemp. Compare it with your BIOS temps and see how close it is. It's very accurate for me.

Also, don't trust voltage readings through programs either; they're generally not that accurate.

i would trust coretemp more then speedfan also the voltage that is shown in coretemp is you vid, not the current voltage ur running

Compare CoreTemp to what your BIOS says. You can alos try OCCT (Overclock Checking Tool). It has a built-in temp reader.

did you try HWmonitor to see what that says. I always use coretemps and it is fairly accurate

i made a small illistration, the only program that has ever reported my vcore right is nvidia monitor. also on coretemp your vid is different then vcore

Do you have asus AI tweaker or anything to check

CoreTemp is right, and yes those temps are a bit high. I would try reseating the HSF
