if its 1440 there really is no need to go sli or crossfire. A single GTS will do it. But if you want to just for the sake of it I would choose 9600gt's

also i herd the q6600 was faster in benching but the phenom 9850 is slightly faster when gaming, alltho the q6600 still ocs to like 3.6 while the q9850 is stuck at 3.0 3.2

use the same cards for both

Nvidia 780a boards are out now, which brings SLI support to AM2+

or the X38 and x48 intel boards support crossfire

unless you want to compare AMD/ATI cards to Nvidia cards
