Hello gentlemen. I currently have an e-machines computer with the following components.
-500 watt BFG power supply
- ECS AM2 motherboard with 2 ddr2 ram slots
- 1 gb of ddr2 ram
- 3800x2 AMD am2 processor
- 7600gt graphics card
- 200gb ATA hardrive

I personally think that my motherboard and PSU are fine right now, but the power supply is getting pretty old(2 years?) Can anyone help me with the best possible upgrade with 300 dollars?
Any tips or good computer parts would be greatly appreciated!

edit: I use this computer for gaming :)

ok here is what i recomend. get this ram
Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory 54$
ths cpu Newegg.com - AMD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor - CPUs / Processors athlon 4850, and this gpu. Newegg.com - PNY VCG96512GXPB GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
comes to 289$ with out taxes or shipping, your psu should last you a good while longer, i think the bfg psu's are some what ok, havent herd much about them tho. anyway all that should put you ontop of the game, and you max out almost any game but crysis.
you could even get this cpu to save some cash Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor - CPUs / Processors

thanks for the post buddy! I don't really notice a difference between the 4850e and the 4800x2. I assume the main reason is because of the lower wattage requirement. That graphics card is a nice find, thanks alot.

Actually it's either a Manchester or a Windsor, the 3800+ never came in Brisbane core's
