ok well I finally found the fix and figured I would share so this may be another one of the many fixes that randomly work. It wasn;t because I needed to underclock my ram, uninstall drivers, use a disk cleaner program, reinstall vista, etc. etc. Using the EVGA 750i FTW mobo I had to simply flash my bios to the newest version. I flashed to the SZ17 batch which were quirky at first but I got everything smoothed out. Finally after I recieved my 2ND 9800gx2 after claiming an RMA which doesnt appear to be what I should have done lol... ah well
