They cost exactly the same, only the HX520w requires a rebate, and it's not as good IMO.

Only thing the Corsair has over the PC P&P is that it's modular, which some people don't even count as a benefit (I do though).

I think that Seagate 500GB 7200.11 32MB cache is the best drive he can get. Plus they are pretty affordable at $100.

Although, for a $1000 build I think it would be best for him to upgrade to atleast XP 64-bit. That way he can use some more ram.

ok so if i get vista wich one should i purchase and can i get it to look like 2k like xp's 2k feature?

also do i really need more than 3 gigs of ram even for the toughest games? seems like overkill.

The Corsair 650tx is a better deal than the 520hx and is the same price as the Silencer 610 (cheaper after mir). It also has a 52A 12v rail vs the Silencers 49A.
