Oh and I disagree with Vernongs initial picks. You can grab a 9600GT for $140 or lower and there are a few with $25 MIR so actually that would put it cheaper than the 8800GS he mentioned and have much better performance. The 9600GT still gets top performance and visuals on all games, just as the 8800GT 512, but costs less so why not save your money? The difference in performance isn't noticeable because I can play games on both cards at max settings and both look the same.

Yeah, and that's not even the one I'm referring to. The ECS Elite Group 9600GT occasionaly will drop to $115 after MIR. Right now it looks like it's not that cheap but I've seen it drop twice now. So getting a 9600GT for that price makes it a good option in my book.

whats the deal with the G92? more stream processors?

so essentially the 8800 GT is as good or equal to the 8800 GTS in performance?
What about 9800 GX?

I would be interested in one card out of the bunch that consumes less power, gets less hot and gives excellent performance.

g92 is the codename for the GPU inside the Card, g92 runs cooler, less power sucking and its better performing than a g80 core (aka the 320mb and 640mb 8800gts Video Cards)

9800gtx to me is really nothing more but an 8800gts g92 with a better cooler, and a bit more performance, just settle with an 8800gts g92 or an 8800gt 512mb or if your feeling thrifty and would regret spending this much cash, a 9600gt is fine
