cod4 lagging?

k so i did a reinstall and got some new hardware for my gaming rig as seen below in my sig. problem is when i play cod4 is lags horribly from time to time. I'm talking like going from 90fps in game down to around 10-25 for a span of a second or two and then jumping back up to the 75-90+ range... i ran some tests real quickly and nothing seems to be wrong. temps are all within normal range, no artifacting on ATI tool, and my cpu ran fine under occt. so what's going on here?

i was able to play cod4 perfectly maxed out settings and now i can't do that at all. the only thing thats changed since last time is that my ram has dropped from 2gb to 1gb.. could that be the difference maker here?

Yea, that's a big difference. When it lags it's probably because the RAM is being over loaded.

Why did you take a gb out?

one of the sticks died.

yeah what you are seeing is the computer swapping out to virtual memory cause it runs outta ram.

getting another 1gb stick will fix that most likely.
