1000 to spend

Hey all soulafien here.

got about a grand to spend on a gaming rig and need advice on the best i can get for that price.

Have always been an amd fan but it seems that pentium is on top right now so will probably go that way.

all suggestions would be great also was thinking about getting a tower from cyberpower inc(any feedback there?)or if another custom builder would be better?

also i have xp pro 32 bit and am curious if it will support quad cores(hate vista)and is a 2.4 quad core better than a 3.0 dual core?

in short i have lots of questions and few awnsers.

Does a monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers need to be included in the $1000?

The operatin system you use doesn't matter with multi core or how fast your processor runs. Welll, before some cynic comes and corrects me, meaning XP and Vista, they'll both be fine to use.

Keep in mind 32-bit is going to support up to 3.5GB of RAM (give or take), not a full 4GB of RAM. If you want to go more then that you'll need to run 64-bit XP or 64-bit Vista.

If you have $1000 to spend on a computer alone, Vista is going to run very nicetly on a computer with that budget.

mobo,card, and case are all up to you...depends what you want to do...maybe change RAM around if you want
