AMD or Intel Quad cores?

i will get a wolfdale my next build (maybe june) unless AMD has some serious price drops or comes out with the 45nm by then.
if i was to buy a quad core at this moment, i would buy the intel FOR THE SOLE REASON that there are no SLI motherboards available for phenom. YOU HEAR ME, NVIDIA?

Amd: Budget, no ocing

Intel: Performance, ocing

Performance difference at stock clocks: Minimal

Q6600 is cheaper, consume less power and performs slightly better than 9850

And many people here agree with me on that.

I do like Intel, and I hate AMD. I never denied this, but that doesn't mean that what I say is not true.

Q6600 is cheaper than Phenom 9850. Don't forget this

Also read this. Phenom 9750 and 9850 have compatibility problem with many 780G boards. So, he is forced to buy 790FX-based motherboard which cost more than $150, if you really don't want to have problems

He don't need to buy an expensive motherboard if he gets Q6600

not so fast at the bottom

you could still use some AM2 boards, and there are a lot of good sub $150 boards for AM2+

ex: AMD 770 chipset Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
another ex: 790x: Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

so you're right somewhat, but not about the board parts

i dislike intel's business practices and ethics, which is why i haven't bought anything by them in awhile. although, the performance difference is almost enough to make me switch, but the cost of the cpu i want (e8500) is hindering me from doing so...i just won't spend that much.
plus, i just like the color green.
why do you "hate" AMD?

I can see why people dislike Intel's business practices but I see no reason to hate either company. If AMD hadn't launched the Athlon 64 and later the Athlon x2 we would still be using Netburst processors with high clock speeds and low performance.

Maroon is one that would most certainly tell someone to go intel over AMD even IF the client says they need the absolute cheapest setup.

Yup, I can see it happening. Lol.
