AMD or Intel Quad cores?

Help AMD out n get a 9850, plus free shipping from newegg!

9850 Phenom is still competitive to Q6600 regardless of a little higher fps or less secs in whatever.

The q6600 is cheaper than the 9850, has better stock performance, and better overclocking ability. There is no reason to buy a processor based on anything other than performance and price.

AMd still has the cheapest quad and tri cored CPU's.

Look for yourself, short by price, AMD's cheapest quad is like 20 less or more than intels.

Some people don't care about price/performance percentage, they just want the cheapest.

For some people, you have to figure in the price of buying a new motherboard too.

And the cheapest AMD quad core compatible mobo is like $50.
The cheapest intel quad core compatible mobo is like $54.

So at least on newegg, AMD has the cheapest Quad core and compatible mobo.

I wasn't trying to say that intel is always a better buy because it isn't. I was comparing the Q6600 to the Phenom 9850 since it is the only Phenom that has performance close to the Q6600.

If you already have an AMD socket AM2(+) board, get a Phenom, because its the cheapest upgrade route

but otherwise get Intel

yeah but $24 is barely anything when it comes to computers...
