Need help w/ 9800gtx fan speed

So im tryin to raise my fan speed with riva tuner 2.08. using 174.74 drivers. when i raise it it sounds like it speeds up but then slows the next second, i was able to get about 2 min of 100% fan speed b4 it slowed down but that was the most ive gotten. is there any other way to raise the fan speed or am i gonna have to wait for a new version of rivatuner to come out?

Maybe it sets it to 100% but then downgrades when it doesn't need to be used. Set it to 100% then play a game and see if it's any cooler then at default speeds.

(Not much help, I know. I've never used the program personally)

it also does the same thing w/ all other settings.

problem solved ntune was messing it up... all that ntune is good for, messing things up.
