CPU Cooler

Do I need to have a CPU cooler? I will have an intel core 2 duo... I might overclock it too.

Do I really need one? If i do, what are some good cheap ones?

Umm yah. You are going to need a heatsink and fan on that thing. Also it is not the best idea to get cheap ones. I am not sure if there is good cheap ones. I use a Zalman heatsink and fan but that cost around $60.00 USD. I am not sure what your budget is? There might be some good deals on Newegg though.

The stock intel cooler barely kept my chip within reasonable temperatures on Stock settings, no overclock.

I'm using the CoolerMaster TX2 and its running my e8400 at 25c at an idle and usually around 32c on a load.

and it comes with preapplied mx-2, very easy to install. The hood slides off which makes it a lot easier.

you would have some major problems if you didn't use one. If you aren't going to do some major ocing i think an af7 would do.
