Laptop wont boot

yo, whats up?

quick troubleshoot, i have an old laptop basically it boots for about a minute then shuts itself off, no beeps, no nothing. no screen, plugged it into vga out and nothing on my monitor.

its not crucial but i thought i'd just ask if you guys had any ideas

That could be a ton of things really. Memory, Mobo, BIOS, etc.

i have no idea, no i can hear the fans going, i press delete, f8, f1 all the usual keys, no beeps no nothing. then just switches itself off, i took out the battery and tried from just the mains, sometimes that works.

but after that, nout

The fact that the fans and lights etc. are turning on doesn't really mean much except that the psu isn't the main problem
I'd agree with Snake and go with the mobo as being the problem.
