I'm actually tempted to sell my 8800 drop alittle extra cash and grab two 3870's for xfire. Word up son!

You should do it, you'd get a lot more performance, plus that open box link I showed up there is $140 each

I do have the option of going the SLI route, since the mobo is an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe (with X2 4400, 2x1Gb OCZ Platinum, Seasonic S12 500w and Raptor X). So you guys reckon 2x9600 is better than a G92 8800 GTS now and then another one when I change mobo/cpu/ram in 6-9 months time (going back to Intel for my next setup, of course)?

I am not a huge FPS fan, I like the occasional TF2 match, some good SP FPS campaigns (NOLF2, HL2, Bioshock). I mostly play RPGs, MMORPGs, here and there some driving games. I pretty much hate Crysis gameplay-wise, so that one won't be an issue at all.

Well the 9600gt's would be better, even though the 8800gts g92 is more than enough for what you're planning

****, if you paying $500 for that 22" why not check out a 28" Hanns G from Costco, has same resolution and and price range, unless you getting it like really cheap. and SLi 9600GT's would be good I guess, hope you can provide some solid benchmarks to prove they are dank.

Otis already posted dual 9600gt's score in 3dmark06, they score around 17k-ish
