Not bad huh? I was at 60C idle before.....now on load its around 55C. Thats a massive temp change id say, bet they would go even lower if i threw a fan on that back heatsink.


Looks like i now have an XFX EVGA 8800gt 256mb Superclocked...lol.

Get rid of the massive evga sticker, It really kills the look of the all black card.

A little goo gone works wonders.

Also, those temps are rather high I would think. Though it could very well just be that after two years of w/c gpu's I don't remember what a good idle temp is...

43C idle and 55C on load for an 8800gt on air cooling is not high lol, i was 60C idle and over 80C before.

Youre just used to water cooling. Oh, and my fan speed is only set to 60%.

yeah man those are wc temps, not comparable with air temps. But if you ask around, the 8800gt does get hot and runs at least 49c-50C idle with the stock cooler.

Playing cod4, my load temp stayed at 49C. Im very happy with this cooler, may oc higher tomorrow.

yeah those are pretty good temps.

I get around the same load temps (48c 100% load) with my HR-03.

I was able to hit 675/875 and get through 3dmark, play cod4, and ran ati artifact scanner with no errors. temps stayed the same as well, but i decided to stay at 650/850 with fan at 50& for silent running.
