hrmmm.... maybe that's a great idea zedman! seriously, I like it lol. ummm, kurrenteweser.... what programs are you talking about and how the heck am I going to be able to download/install these when i can't get into the os itself. I may scrap this Vista key and just go with windows xp... anyone know if the drivers for an Acer Aspire 3680-2682 can be found for xp? thanks

The programs that reset Vista/XP passwords are run from bootable CDs.

You could maybe try OPHCrack; it's a bootable disc to retrieve lost passwords (uses Linux). I have it, just haven't had to use it yet, lol.

No idea if it'll work with Vista, though. I know it's supposed to work with XP, and only non-complex passwords.
