Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 help

Hey, dunno if this is the right place on this forum (been a while since i been on here hehe), but I have rainbow 6 Vegas 2 for the PC.. I've noticed it runs smooth and all, except sometimes i get these random 1-second lock-ups, I find this happens when I fire my weapon (not every time, but this is quite common), and that 1 - 2 seconds of frozen gameplay can kind of ruin the fun, and cause me to die lol..

Can anyone Help me out here?

Also, what is Anti-Aliasing, under video options?

ask a mod to move it to "PC Gaming"

anyways...

Anti-Aliasing is where your graphics card will smooth out the edges of all textures, models etc. so that you don't have any tearing or edging around the stuff being rendered.

when your zoomed out and the picture is normal (ie. you wont see each indivual pixel), the blurred pixels around the antialiased model will seem rounded

you'll notice the effect profoundly if your running on lower resolutions, at higher resolutions the difference is so minimal... although you'll still take a sizable performance hit
