Ok, so this may be a bit left field, almost seems to simple to work....

I've been having issued getting XP to install on my SATA HD after a clean format, with a bunch of IDEs lying around i've sort of shelved the SATA HD for the past few weeks as school, work and new baby have taken my attention...just wondering if a quick SATA to IDE converter would work for the initial XP install at which point I unplug it and go over to the SATA connection on the mobo? Is this too good to be true?

I guess I could try that again...tried it once and it didn't work. This looks like a better tutorial on how to do it though so maybe i'll get lucky this time.

Thanks

No problem. Stop by the Windows forum or just ask in that thread if you have any questions. We will assist you any way we can to avoid using a converter for no reason.
