personally i would say the 9800GTX or 8800GTS (or you could wait for the 9900series)... sure sli 9600GT is good but if you get one GTS and then "When you really need a performance boost" add the second it will make a much bigger difference. If your on a budget 9600GT is still nice.

its better to get one high performance card then 2 medium cards, then later if u feel upto it sli 2 gtx's

Or just skip the Overclocked 8800 gts g92 (9800GTX) and get the REAL gtx

Is there a reason why you linked us to 2 evga cards? Because if you are looking for stepup, BFG has step up too now, and you can just get this one instead.

Newegg.com - BFG Tech BFGR88768GTXOCE GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics

Of course you have to use the rebates to get it down to your 9800gtx price..

And if you don't want an 8800 gtx, just the choices you picked, and you ALSO don't want to just get an 8800 gts g92... then fine get the 9800gtx over the 9600 gt sli...

Wait... what resolution do you game at?

Let me see those results.......

Maybe an OC'd gts g92, but I think stock vs stock and OC'd 25% both of them, the 8800 gtx should come out ontop in both tests... Even if it's a g80...

But either way i would not disagree with getting a gts g92...

I game @ 1680*1050

If I get the evga 9800gtx now, can I step up to the 9900gtx when it cums out in July?
And why is Nvidia releasing their cards so fast? Is ATI up to somethin that Nvidia is scared of?
