i remember a while back there was a thread about the different gfx cards you had ever owned. that was fun. i had like 3, nos and veedub had like 30 each...

Well, not counting on-board graphics... I guess 3 for me too

fx5200, 2x8500 gt's, 2x8800 gt's...

Oh wait.. i have some old pny card that i have no idea what model it is (I played GTA San Andreas on it with my old emachines)... I need to research that, maybe it's something decent that i can sell for a few bucks.

going with the modecon of parts here... used the mx4000, mx 4400, fx5500. cpu's celeron d, p4, p2, a couple amd's, 3 different micro atx boards, older p2 boards from a few different companies, msi mobo, and now my evga 680i board. cases... 2 shuttles, 3 no-name micro's, old IBM case, raidmax case *don't remember model* Thermalright hurricane, XClio windtunnel, some old dell cases. HDD's to many to really list, been through probably 15 in the last year, try to stay with maxtor and WD, probably my biggest claim over most ppl is my plethera of OS's... used a pc version of OS-X, LinuxXP, Ubuntu, win 98SE, 95, ME, XP home and pro, briefly used Vista right after it came out, Kubuntu... and I was mostly using all these within the last 12 months

Ok, back to the topic of the 9800GX2. With 3dmark06 I get about 16000-16500. That is when using my q6600 at 3.26ghz, 4gb reapers at 1000mhz, and a very mild overclock to a single 9800gx2. Now, if I can push my processor to 3.6 or even close to 4.0ghz, I'm sure that the scores would go up dramatically. So far I get about a 7000 in HDR, 6000ish in SM, and 4500ish for CPU.

However, as you can see, if just going by 3dmark06 scores, you could do much better or equally good with two cheaper cards in SLi. And since the quad sli performance of these 9800gx2's is not exactly great other than at high resolutions, I'm thinking there really won't be any records being broke until the new 9900 series comes out.

That's really insane, even my single 8800GTS with a Q6600 @ 3.7GHz beats out the 3DMark06 score of a GX2.. doesn't make any sense.. I expected at least close to the score of SLI 8800GTS's

Supposedly SLI is not pre-enabled, in which case that means I was only using the one GPU? Anyone care to tell me how to enable SLI and possibly improve the score?
