Convert Write files to Read only

Hi Im looking for a software or a converter were I can convert writable files to read only files. Is there such program out there ?

Well basicly its dealing with Pbo files I do Mission Map editing for operation flashpoint when the map is done the software converts it to a pbo file .. but here's the point the pbo file can be open Meaning you can see the sqm file and all the scripts and all that can be changed if its writable but if its read only it would not have that promblem were it can't be open..

what is Pbo? and where are you working on these? Is it a work related thing like your on a domain, or are you producing something for public use?
FYI, can you punctuate please. I'm having trouble with the sentence structure. Hard to make out where it starts and stops...
